Reverse Applique + Crewel Embroidery

Sneak peek.

Embroidered with fine wool in cool shade.

This technique is called Reverse applique.

I really love this pattern.

And Nina keeps making more and more, too. She sure is a crafty girl.

Happy crafty weekend!

  1. Hello there Hiromi,
I live in Japan for 3 years when I was a young girl. I lived in Yokosuka, Japan and one other town that I can't remember. I have always love the Japanese art and fantasy. Now that I am a senior, I have much more time to dedicate to it. I would love to know if there is a pattern for this piece of reverse applique. I will follow your blog and your work. Thank you for sharing your needle work. This is my blog although I don't post on it as much as I should .... punchdrunkneedlework.blogspot.com

    1. Jan,
Unfortunately I don't have a pattern for this work. This design is very simple. I am sure you can figure out how to draw the shapes. Actually the diamonds are formed with several circles. Good luck!!
